So do you think that will they ban everything....or just ban stuff coming from China. Seems it's just the cartridges they have issues with, not the mechanical aspect.

I personally think it's just a good excuse to ban the whole "kit-and-caboodle."  They don't decry peanut butter 'cause some manufacturers add extra-tasty salmonella or ban toys because Chinese manufacturers give them a wonderful lead coating or beef & watermelon because some are e-coli enriched.  However, they test a couple of carts, likely from a Chinese manufacturer, and they warn everyone to stay away from ecigs?  Seems like a post-hoc justification to me...

But who knows, perhaps there are honest bureaucrats who truly want the truth about e-cigs and aren't beholden to corporate donors.  Wait... Did I just say honest bureaucrats... Oh sh......

Yeah, I honestly don't think the FDA wants to pass e-cigarettes. Most "vapers" feel similarly, but they think it's some big conspiracy that has to do with Big Tobacco.

What makes more sense to me, is that the FDA doesn't want to pass any recreactional drug. Sadly, the electronic cigarettes aren't really marketable as cessation devices, so they are recreational drugs.

I feel like the purpose of the FDA press release was to dissuade any potential users from buying products they are preparing to ban.

I hope I'm wrong. I hope the FDA steps in and decides to test and regulate this product instead. I hope they block the dangerous shipments from China, and promote trustworthy American produces like these folks from Vermont. Hell, go ahead and tax it, too. Even if it ends up costing me twice as much as regular smokes, It will be worth it.
