Tips for new users

O.K....I'll start....

When you first receive your Joye 510 kit read the manual. If your kit came from us the batteries were already charged so you'll be able to use them right away for 1/2 hour and then they should be put back on the charger for an hour before using them in a normal manner.

Sometimes it takes quite a few drags on the e-cig to get rid of the nasty taste on the atomizer and to get the atomizer working well.

The liquid that comes in the cartridges is just plain nasty! I'd recommend that you use some good e-liquid in your e-cig. To get rid of the old liquid and begin using good stuff...... first, using tweezers pull the "batting" out of the cartridge and run it under the running water for a few seconds. Then pat it dry with a napkin or paper towel (it doesn't have to be completely dry). Next put a couple drops of nicotine "juice" in the cartridge and then put the wadding back in. Then add a few more drops to the top of the cartridge so it looks wet but isn't overflowing.

Don't make the mistake of thinking that since you liked smoking you'll only want tobacco flavored juice. Almost everyone who begins using an e-cig thinks that but there's no reason why vaping (that's what we call using an e-cig) can't be tasty....one of my favorites is cola flavor, my best friend loves chocolate mint and my sister likes cherry. We'll be experimenting with different flavors and offering them in small trial sizes.

Clean your atomizer!
« Reply #2 on: June 26, 2009, 02:35:59 PM »

Clean your atomizer when changing flavors of e-liquid! Unless you've cleaned the atomizer well you won't get the true flavor of your new e-liquid. To clean it.... put alcohol in a small container with lid. Drop in your atomizer and swirl it around well. Take it out of the alcohol and let dry on a paper towel. Next....and here's the really unpleasant part....blow out any remaining liquid. Blow from the non battery end. After you're sure that you've gotten most of the alcohol out drop a few drops of the new liquid on your atomizer and then put your cartridge back on. You're now ready to enjoy your new flavor.  :)

Ok, just getting started with vaping.  So far, so good!

I have a confusion about putting juice in the atomizer though.  Can someone explain how this works?  I had read somewhere that you ??? shouldn't put juice on the atomizer because it would gum it up and cause it to stop working, so I've avoided this.  But I've seen a lot of articles since stating that this is what you ??? should do.  Any comments?

I'm sorry........we missed seeing your post or would have answered it sooner. I personally just top  off my cartridge with e-liquid but I know alot of people drip directly on the atomizer. With the 510 e-cig you're less apt to do damage than with the older 901's as it's too easy to get liquid in the battery with those. I'll see if I can get Adam to add his expertise.....

After cleaning I find it is best to drip a drop or two into atty to prime it ,or it will take a while to get it going.

OK, well, I've been vaping for about 6 months.  I have not totally quit analogs but I'm getting very close.  Takes awhile to get over that total commitment part but I think I finally have the setup to do it.

I started out vaping with a KR808D-1 with the cartomizers.  That setup turned out not to be the best as far as vapor production.  I tried the Joye 901 mini and still the same.  I then tried the Joye 510 starter kit and was pleasantly surprised both with vapor production and flavor, especially with the VG juices from Vermont Vapor.  PG juices are junk.  Most are mixed in China and taste nothing like advertised.  I was longing for a longer battery life.

Here is my current setup which I purchased from EliquidPlanet:

Dark Star battery - 1300+ mahs
Cisco LR atomizer 1.5 ohm
Cannon Drip Tip

I now drip directly on the atty and this thing produces all kinds of vapor.  I alternate between the Vermont Vapor Smoke and Mango juices on separate attys and couldn't be happier.

If you're looking for long battery life, great vapor production and the absolute best taste for Vermont Vapor juices, purchase the above setup.  You won't be disappointed.
